Backroom Report Transcript for Friday, September 4, 2009
Never before in the history of our nation has a president make a request like this and many Americans are highly suspicious of his motives, but for those of you who don't see a problem with Obama addressing our kids, I beg you to stay tuned for the next few minutes.
A huge uproar from parents is taking place in Salt Lake City concerning a 4-minute celebrity studded video called "I Pledge" that is being sent to schools across the nation. The principal and PTA leaders at Eagle Bay Elementary made the decision to show "I Pledge" to a full school assembly last week.
The video opens with a picture of Obama and a caption that says, "They say the job of President is the loneliest job in the world." Then Obama says, (audio).
After that the video is filled with typical feel good pledges from stars such as Courtney Cox, Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore, Cameron Diaz and other Hollywood lefties where they pledge to help the homeless, the hungry, etc. However interwoven into those messages is extreme environmentalist and other leftwing propaganda, that is capped off with... well you just need to hear it for yourself. Please note the video is 4 minutes long and you can find it at YouTube, but I've edited out some of the repititious feel good stuff so you can hear the controversial parts. (audio)
So how would you feel if your child were shown this video? And for you liberals, socialists, progressives... whatever you call yourselves these days, what if George W. Bush had done something like this? You would be outraged!
Now you understand why so many Americans are highly suspicious of Obama's address to our children next week. Teaching plans have already been distributed to classrooms nationwide with instructions such as having students make posters with quotes from Obama, and having children write down what they can do to support the president.
To fully understand the danger, you must look at the big picture. Barack Obama has filled the White House with advisors and czars who have questionable pasts... some are avowed communists who could not pass the standard FBI background check, so the Obama administration told the FBI not to bother with it, that Obama's people would do their own checks.
This attempt to reach our children is straight out of the Marxist playbook. They want America's youth to see Obama as their friend and leader and to become part of his socialist coalition. Already his administration has taken management of next year's census away from the Commerce Department and will instead manage it from the White House. Part of their already published strategy is to send teaching materials to our schools where children will be instructed to snitch on their parents if they don't turn in their fully completed census forms.
If any president were just addressing our nation's school children next Tuesday to encourage them to work hard and get a good education, it wouldn't raise red flags... but with Obama, his track record so far with the "I Pledge" video and his past as a leftist community organizer tells me otherwise.
And it's very interesting that the day after he talks to our kids, he'll give a nationally televised address to a joint session of Congress outlining his healthcare proposal. Can't you see it now... all over the nation... little kiddies asking daddy to turn on the TV at 8 PM to watch their new friend Barack Obama.
Thankfully Bartow County Schools are closed Tuesday and I trust they won't record Obama's address to the children and play it back Wednesday. However, if your kids, grandkids, nieces or nephews attend school anywhere else, contact their school today and demand that they do not participate, and if they do... then keep your kids home from school Tuesday. It's time to send a message now that we will not allow our schools to be turned into propaganda centers.
That's my opinion, we welcome yours... Thanks for listening and I'll see you Monday after next... for a complete transcript of this morning's comments, go to NewsTalk1270.com
Monday is Labor Day so welcome to a special Friday edition of the Backroom Report... and this one is a doozy. You may have heard about the controversy surrounding President Obama's request to speak to all school children in America next Tuesday at 1 PM.
